Evelyn Margaret Somers, 86, passed away July 1, 2013 in Lake Havasu City. She was born May 30, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Mary Sparre.
Evelyn loved to paint and draw and was an accomplished oil painter. She was a former member of the Lake Havasu Art Guild. Evelyn loved her daughters and nieces, Judy and Arlene. She loved to travel and visited many foreign countries during her marriages.
She lived in Lake Havasu for 30 years, coming from Tucson. Evelyn was known for her bright smile and her beautiful spirit and love of life. She will be deeply missed and always loved.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Vandermeer of Florida, Patricia Huff of Texas, Kathleen C. Voigt of New Mexico and Jayme Pallagi of Indiana; nieces, Arlene Johnson and Judy Larson; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Herb Underwood of Golden Shores. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marion and June; first husband, Bill Carroll and her second husband, Herbert Somers.
Private services and memorials will be in each daughters’ home state. Contributions can be made in Evelyn's name to the Dementia/Alzheimers association of your choice.
