Neal Ernst Davis went to be with the Lord, June 30, 2013. He was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Grants Pass, Ore., to Lucille Pattee Davis and Claude E. Davis. He was raised and schooled in Seattle, Wash., enlisting into the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in the Philippines where he sustained a bullet wound to his neck by the Japanese, followed by two years in North Korea where he was sent home with a permanently injured ankle. He had a career of driving in Washington State.
He married Florence Adams in 1948, together they had six children. He later married Marilyn Fairbrother in 1978, deceased in 1987. He married Winona Christophersen in June 1991. They moved to Lake Havasu City from Seattle, Wash., in 1998.
He is survived by his widow, Winona Davis; six children, Randy Davis and wife Linda, Kris Lindemute and husband Dave, Michael Davis and wife Janice, Danny Davis and wife Carinna, Tony Davis and wife Laura, Cindy Davis Stauffer and husband Bryan; one brother, Jackson Davis of Eugene, Ore., and one sister, Claudia Worley of Matawa, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister Josephine Davis.
Neal was a vocalist baritone and soloed in many Havasu churches and the community choir. He loved to sing and entertain and he loved people, never meeting a stranger. He was a member of BPOE, VFW and the American Legion. He is loved.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, July 10, 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Methodist Church, 2895 S. Jamaica Blvd. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Bryant of St. Michael’s and Pastor Harvey of the Church of the Nazarene.
