Her father inherited Griffwood Thoroughbred Farm in Mount Washington, Maryland, which raised winners in racing events. Pat's maternal grandfather raised champion trotters in Alabama. She was given a thoroughbred filly she named 'Quality' when she was in her teens. In the early 1940's, Pat studied at Jackson Women's College, affiliated with Tuft Medical University in Medford, Massachusetts, majoring in Physical Education and Physiotherapy. She married U.S. Naval Academy graduate and officer; George Frederick Jubb, who had graduated at the head of his class. Pat traveled with him during his tour of duty and when he retired in 1954, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1955 to raise their family. Pat served as president of the Parent Teachers Association. She was a Girl Scout Troup leader and later a 4-H leader for young ranchers in the area. Pat taught in the Girl Scout Horseback Riding Program in Palmer Park and worked with children from the Deaf & Blind School, introducing them to the joys of horseback riding. She was employed by the U.S. Army Fort Carson, Youth Services Facility to teach horseback riding with students from 7 to 17. She raised and trained two equestrian champion daughters who carried on the family tradition of excellence, Judith and Sharon Jubb. Both were beauty queens. Mike Jubb, the youngest, enjoyed riding in trail rides and hunting with his father. During the 1960s, Pat was a registered judge of both English and Western riding at horse show events for the Central and Southern Colorado Horsemen's Associations. At Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs she worked as a medical transcriptionist in the pathology department for 15 years, while continuing to participate in horseback riding activities. She became an accredited national judge for the North American Trail Ride Conference Inc. in 1972. Throughout a 30-year career in competitive trail rides on champion horses, she won many awards. Pat spoke at seminars and workshops and appeared on the cover of Western Horseman magazine August 1989, riding her champion gelding, Cliffwood's Hakime. Pat rode actively in Palmer Park, Austin Bluffs near her home well into her late 70's until her champion mare C.R. Krystalette slipped and fell on an icy patch on a trail and Pat's leg was broken. After a hip operation in 2001, she could no longer ride. Throughout her life, Pat shared her love of riding horses with many people. She enjoyed her pets and the great western outdoors. Pat considered the 'Aspen tree groves of the Colorado Rocky Mountains her cathedrals, and all of nature 'God's creation.' A private memorial was held April 6, 2013.
