BRENNAN, Yvonne

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, July 12, 2013 Yvonne Brennan (Obituary by Yvonne Brennan, dictated to Barbara Frushon on April 25, 2013). "I came to live at Mountain View Manor in Prescott, Ariz., in August 2012 to die before Christmas. Instead, however, I played bingo three times a week and started winning stuffed animals as prizes, meeting new friends and enjoying myself. It is now April 2013 and I am still going strong, but slow. I have met so many wonderful people: Barbara Frushon was my Hospice of the Pines certified volunteer who became my best friend forever. Bless her for bringing me that catered dinner when I was craving Italian food so much! I became fast friends with Sherry, the volunteer coordinator; also, Dee, the director of the bingo program. Mountain View Manor has good food, compassionate nursing care, and is furnished like a hotel. My wonderful daughter, Lisa, and my brother, Billy, were so loving to me by spending long hours with me and made my last days special. I will never forget my friend, Joyful, jumping out of my closet on her surprise visit from Las Vegas a few weeks ago. Grateful thanks to Pat and Sharon from Cornerstone Church for visiting me on Wednesdays, and my friend, Sal, who has over 250 movies in his room here - we spent many hours together watching movies and eating snacks. Thanks to sweet Maria who came from Hospice of the Pines to bathe me and did my make-up every day. (I had decided that even though I was sick, I could still look good!) I dictated this obituary one April evening to my dear friend Barbara Frushon, and she has promised to print each word as I wanted. I spent a lot of time praying that God would forgive my sins. I hope to go to my Lord when my days come to an end." The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their care. Information provided by survivors.
