On Wednesday, Dec. 17, Derek Austin Knapp passed away at the age of 21.
He was born Nov. 6, 1987 in Beaumont, Texas. He attended Wickenburg High School and graduated in 2006.
Derek is survived by his son Kaden Austin Davis-Knapp, parents William and Carol Knapp, and his sister Allison Knapp.
Because of a situation involved in his untimely death, the Knapp family has determined not to have a service at this time. Friends are encouraged to contact the family with any memories of Derek you would like to share with them.
Derek’s mother would like to share some thoughts she has…
I watched you grow, my sweet little baby boy. You loved your blanket and toys; you loved your friends and to play in the river; you loved your son, sister and Dad even more.
My little baby, my wonderful young man, I would give anything just to hold your hand or give you a hug for no reason at all. I wish I could hear your truck coming down the road, you opening my door and walking down the hall.
I have your blanket, some toys and pictures, the only thing missing is my sweet baby son. Life makes no sense and is garbled and strange; I can’t go on and I can’t turn the page.
You had so many plans and hopes and dreams that will never come true. You died too young at age 21. I wasn’t ready for your life to be over and done.
Your son Kaden, your sister Allison, and your Father mean the world to me, but life is not the same since the day that you died.
I try to be strong, but it is surreal. I do not understand why you left me so soon. My heart will never have the same spark as before because of that tragic day you had to go.
I love you too much Derek Austin.
