Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory, Mesa, Arizona Olga Svob Shill February 14, 1916 ~ July 4, 2013 On July 4, 2013, Olga, 97, passed away peacefully and joined her beloved husband, George, and son, Richard, who preceded her in death. Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1916, to parents who emigrated from Yugoslavia (now Croatia), Olga moved to Lehi, AZ when she was two and remained a Lehi/Mesa resident for the remainder of her life. As a young girl, Olga enjoyed racing her classmates, singing and dancing with her family after dinner, and swimming with her siblings in an irrigation ditch on the family farm. She attended post-secondary school, became a highly-skilled stenographer, and worked as a legal secretary before marrying her treasured "Daddy-O," George Rothrock Shill, on August 28, 1937. Together they were blessed with four children: Georgia Burley, Richard Svob (deceased), Nancy Fish (Dan), and Brenda Daw (Brian). Olga leaves behind two sisters: Elizabeth Croft & Norma Svob Toliver; 14 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of which honor her and cherish her memory. She converted to the LDS church in 1955 and throughout her life served selflessly and tirelessly as a Relief Society President, Primary Leader, Visiting Teacher, and in many other callings. George and Olga's marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on their 21st anniversary. Services will be held at Hillside LDS Church, 1430 N. Grand, Mesa, AZ 85201 on July 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour preceding the funeral. A viewing will also be held at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N.
