~Michael Anthony Hardie, age 62, died Friday, July 5, 2013 in Bullhead City, Ariz. He was a 20-year resident of Pamona, Calif.
~Michael was born November 1, 1950 in Los Alamos, N. M. At that time Los Alamos was a highly secret U.S. Government project. In 1952 the family moved to California and lived near Mission Bay in San Diego, Calif.
~Michael entered the US Air Force in 1971 and then into the US Air Force Reserves from 1979 until 1997. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant while serving as a Flight Engineer on C-135, C141 and KC-10 refueling aircraft. He flew on hundreds of missions.
~During his twenty-two year career, Michael experienced and survived onboard fires, engine failures, equipment and electronic break downs, and severe weather. Michael flew combat missions during the Gulf War.
~Michael fought cancer with the same determination and courage he displayed in serving his country. On July 5th Michael lost his battle with cancer, but he never surrendered.
~Michael is survived by his father, John D. Hardie Sr. of Bullhead City, Ariz.; brothers, Ralph E. (Kim) Hardie of Duluth, Ga.; William R. (Karen) Hardie of Ramona, Calif.; John D. (Janet) Hardie Jr. of Whitmore Lake MI.; James G. (Della) Hardie of Santee, Calif.; sisters, Gail T. (Robert) Weed of Lemon Grove, Calif. and JoAnn (Gus) Connelly of El Cajon, Calif.

~At a later date there will be a Celebration of Life ceremony in San Diego, Calif. followed by internment at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery in San Diego, Calif.
