RANEK, Richard Buddy


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, July 19, 2013 - Richard Buddy Ranek passed away June 23, 2013 after his 85th birthday and 15 years of marriage to his loving wife, Marty. Bud was born June 5, 1928, in Pontiac, Mich. He left school and served in the Navy from 1946 to 1949. He served aboard the USS Hanson DD/DDR832. After the Navy he was owner/driver for 35 years for EWNS of U.S. Bud’s mother and father both passed away in the early 1990s. He had three sisters who all passed away the first part of the year 2000. Bud’s late wife, Bernice, passed away in 1993 in Phoenix. Bernice and Marty became very dear to each other and would visit while Bud was on the road. Five years later, Bud asked Marty, what U.S. states she had visited. She replied, “Four.” They got married in 1998 and spent three years RVing all the rest of the states and Canada east to west. They had a wonderful life and enjoyed RVing and Bud was a loving and caring husband. Bud had many friends in Lake Havasu City and many more around the states. He had worked for Chris Blyhs, hauling rock for about five years and helping anyone who needed the help. He will be truly missed. His body was donated to Biological Resource Center, Research And Medical Education. His ashes will be sent to Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Mich.
