MOONEY, Frank George


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, July 18, 2013 - Frank George Mooney passed away July 13, 2013 at the age of 85 in Lake Havasu City. He was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Lansing, Mich., to Frank Mooney and Helen (Parker). Frank graduated from Ohio State University in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and associate degrees in Business Law and Finance. He completed the ROTC program at Ohio State and served in the Ohio National Guard until 1952. He was also employed for Ford Motor from 1951 to 1959; completed their personnel training program in 1953 and served as a Production Control Manager at the Wixon, Mich., assembly plant. He joined General Portland Inc. in 1959 and moved to East Lansing, Mich., and Ft. Wayne Ind., as a Distribution Manager and Sales Manager, later retiring in 1989 as a Contract Sales Manager La Farge Corp. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. Frank was a life member of BPOE, Plymouth, Mich., a Charter Member of FO Eagles of Lake Havasu City and the Moose in Kingman; a past member of the Society of Automotive Engineers Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, JoAnn, of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Sharon Mooney, of Lake Havasu City; granddaughter, Victoria; two great-grandchildren; brother, Douglas Mooney (Lynn) and brother-in-law, George Langenderfer (Sally). He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Michael and Geoffrey; and grandson, Trey. Donations can be made in Frank’s name to Hospice of Havasu, 365 S.
