Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, July 24, 2013 - Marty Bay went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the age of 91. Marty was born June 4, 1922, in Fort Thomas, Ky., to parents Matson and Beulah Hill. Marty grew up enjoying the love and attention of being raised as an only child. Marty met the love of her life Donald Bay while in college and they were married June 5, 1944. Marty spent her time as a mother and homemaker while at the same time volunteering between various service organizations. She and her husband Don retired and moved to Lake Havasu City, in 1983 where Marty was active with the Lioness Club, DAR, Republican Club and the Lake Havasu City Bridge Club. Marty loved the game of bridge where she excelled with earning herself life master status. Marty was preceded in death by her husband Don in 2007, and moved to Porterville, Calif., shortly thereafter. She took up residence at Sierra Hills retirement community and joined the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church where she made many close friends at both places. Marty is survived by her daughter, Susan Smith of Salem, Mo., and son, Don (Becky) Bay of Springville, Calif.; grandchildren, Tammy (Kendall) Reid of Salem, Mo., Brandy White of Ceres, Calif., Nicole Travis of Smith River, Calif., Ryan (Kimber) Bay of Wellington, Colo., Darren (Jaime) Bay of Springville, Calif., Melissa Flowers of Bakersfield, Calif. and Amber (Jamail) Weston of Long Beach, Calif. Marty was also blessed with many great and great-great grandchildren. Marty will be greatly missed; she enjoyed fellowship with family and friends and always had a happy attitude and encouraging word. A private memorial is planned.
