KAISER, Michael Lewis (Mike)


Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory, Mesa, Arizona Michael Lewis Kaiser April 19, 1951 ~ June 27, 2013 Mike Kaiser, 62, died Thursday, June 27 in Mesa, Arizona. Mike had been ill since May, 2012, when a car struck him as he crossed a street on his handicap scooter. Mike graduated from Hanover (NH) High School (1969), Dartmouth College (1973) and the University of New Hampshire (1975). While at Dartmouth, Mike completed two academic terms in Vienna, Austria, where many of his favorite composers had lived. He taught music in New England schools before becoming a programmer/analyst for Digital Electronics Corporation. During his Boston years, he sang in the Worcester (MA) Chorus and toured Europe on several choral tours. He retired to Phoenix in 1997. In Arizona, he sang in the Arizona State University Choral Union; again making numerous European tours. In 1998 Mike even sang in the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican. He performed in choirs continuously for 49 years. He also taught music to a Sunday School class of developmentally disabled adults and sang in groups at his Phoenix church. Mike was active in M.S. support groups in Phoenix and Mesa. When the accident occurred, he had just left an M.S. support brunch. Survivors include his wife, Marietta Moravetz of Mesa, AZ, his sister Carol Jo Kaiser of Hanover, NH, his brother David Kaiser of Durham, NH, and his sister Robin Kaiser Gish of Sudbury, MA. His beloved cocker spaniels, Rocky and Sadie also survive him. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ev Kaiser, Hanover, N H. (2012) and by his first wife, Marilyn Shaughnessy, East Boston (1993).
