Margie Dell Morris passed away peacefully at Prestige Assisted Living in Lake Havasu City July 26, 2013. She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Kelly, La., to Alice (Lay) Morris and Fred Morris.
Margie worked for Detroit Edison in Ann Arbor, Mich., for 32 years as a Customer Service Representative and Account Executive. In the mid-’60s Margie and her sister Zelma Ebach visited Lake Havasu City on one of McCulloch’s infamous vacation/sales pitch tours and loved the area so much they purchased a lot and both later retired to Lake Havasu City in 1981. Margie and sister Zelma, two southern bells known as the “Sisters,” were very active in the community for more than 30 years and were two of the four co-founders of the London Bridge Republican Women’s Club.
Margie is survived by her sister, Freddie Hansen; niece, Sheri Hansen Schultz; and nephew, Todd Hansen, all of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and nephew, Eddie Ebach, of Lake Havasu City.
Margie requested no services and that contributions be made to Hospice of Havasu in lieu of flowers. She will be interned at Havasu Memorial Gardens.
