Rosetta West, 95, passed away Aug. 4, 2013. She was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Mulberry, Ark.
She moved with her family to Chandler in 1930, then to Holbrook to finish high school. While attending Arizona State Teachers College in Flagstaff, she met and married Alvin West. After living in Perkinsville and Skull Valley where Alvin taught school, they settled at the West ranch east of Dewey on Yarber Wash. Managing to raise three kids on a ranch with no running water or electricity for many years, Rosetta later became a skilled seamstress at Moyart Shirt Factory in Prescott.
She is survived by children Jim and Bill, and Rosetta Shesman; sister Lela Lloyd; brothers Jim and Dell Lovitt; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; with numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey, Ariz.
