SHOLLE, SR., Robert E. (Bob)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, August 07, 2013 Robert E. Sholle Sr. passed away on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at the age of 85 years. Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1950, Bob was drafted for the Korean War and served 8 months on the front; although he was a good soldier, he hoped no one would ever have to go through the experience he did. In 1959, he moved to Prescott, and owned Bob's American Service Station for a number of years. He then went to work for Connie Barrett at Flame Propane. He worked there for over 35 years as a truck driver, a service technician, a mechanic, and was known as the smiling, friendly guy at the bottle dock. Bob's wife, Thelma, preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his son Robert Jr.; daughter Tara; grandsons Alec and Stephen; and his dog Buddy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Yavapai Humane Society or the Arbor Day Foundation. A remembrance of his life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at the Hilltop Ramada at Willow Lake. Hampton Funeral home was entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit www.hamptonfuneralhome.com to visit and sign Robert's guestbook. Information provided by survivors.
