NEEDS, Ronald Lee (Ron)

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Sunday, August 04, 2013 Ronald Lee Needs 9/16/1940 – 7/27/213 All of us at the Lake Mary Country Store regret to inform everyone of Ron’s friends and customers that he passed away on July 27, 2013. Many of you knew him as the guy to talk to about all the tips and tricks for fishing in our lakes. Ron holds the state record Pike and enjoyed fishing as much as talking & teaching others all about how to catch fish. He helped so many new and old fisherman get their gear set up to catch the big one and he would grin wide as he said, ‘Beat my record if you can.’ Ron worked at the store for seventeen years and knew about fishing each lake in Northern Arizona. When you walked in the door and asked how has the fishing been the answer was always good (that is because he knew & if he was fishing he always caught a fish) even if we couldn’t. His passions in life were fishing, bowling and BS about both. He is survived by his wife Joely Griffiths, his daughters: Ranay & Dawn Needs and Detra Zutavern, his son Christopher Eckroad and many grandchildren. Ron will be sorely missed by all who have come looking for his specialty handmade lures and just to get some advice. Ron we know that you are doing one or the other someplace else! We know the sign in your window now says ‘Gone fishing and Thanks for the Memories.’ This obituary was prepared by the Advertising Department (928) 556-2279.
