Rodney Dale Grable, 75, ascended into heaven August 5, 2013 to be with his son, Rodney Dennis Grable; brother, Duane Allen Grable; and parents Vera and Allen Grable.
Born July 8, 1938, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Rodney spent his childhood growing up in Rapid City, S.D. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 and honorably served a four-year enlistment (1955-1959).
After meeting the love of his life while stationed in San Diego they moved to Hollywood to begin their life together.
Rodney was an active member in the Havasu Art Guild where he enjoyed oil painting and hand-crafting Kachinas. He also enjoyed fishing, camping trips with the family and boating in the summers.
He is survived by his loving wife Diane of 52 years; daughters Dana (Alan Downs), Cheryl Downs, Scarlett Grable, Elizabeth Grable; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Covina Hills, Calif., Aug. 12, at 9:00 a.m.
