MARTINEZ, Rey (DonRey) (Lalo)


Willcox Range News, Willcox, Arizona July 23, 2013 Rey (DonRey) “Lalo” Martinez 1933-2013 Rey (DonRey) “Lalo” Martinez, of Willcox, died July 18, 2013 in Safford at the age of 80. He was born in Willcox on July 2, 1933 to Ramon S. Martinez and Carmen Pineda Martinez and was a lifelong resident of Willcox. Rey was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, owned and operated Rey’s Market for many years and was the Director of the Southeastern Arizona Food Bank. Survivors include his sons Reynaldo (JonnieBelle) Martinez of Dos Cabezas and Abie (Fay) Martinez of Panama City, Fla., and six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Alice Owen, Lupe Castro, Becky (Scott) Myer and Patricia Taylor and his brothers Reyes (Roberta) Martinez, Joe (Margaret) Martinez and Lencho Martinez and his sister-in-law Helen Martinez. Preceding him in death was his wife Mary and brother Eddie Martinez. A Rosary will be offered at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25 at Westlawn Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
