LEONARD, Vilma M. (Dawna)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, August 14, 2013 Vilma M. "Dawna" Leonard completed her earthly journey this past Sunday afternoon, Aug. 11, 2013, while residing at the Samaritan Prescott Villages. Born on July 4, 1928, in Boston, Mass., Dawna, 85, began her career as an office manager, eventually meeting and marrying the love of her life, the Rev. Robert I. Leonard. The two entered Christian Ministry after attending Nazarene Christian College & Rhema Bible Institute, with Dawna leading praise and worship through their 40-plus years of service to the Lord. Traveling through 18 different states from Massachusetts to New York, through Vermont down to Oklahoma, up to Colorado and finally landing in Prescott, Ariz., Dawna captured their divine adventure in her book "Coast to Coast with the Holy Ghost." Pastor Bob and her son Larry of Mesa, Ariz., awaited Dawna's arrival into Glory. There will be no memorial service scheduled in keeping with her wishes. Dawna is survived by her sister Marilyn of Boston, Mass.; daughter Shelly and son-in-law Mark of Sacramento, Calif.; grandson Willie of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; granddaughter Jasmine of Sacramento, Calif.; nephew Greg and niece Polly of Gilmington, N.H.; along with numerous friends. Today, Heaven's choir is a little brighter and little louder with Dawna's presence! Information provided by survivors.
