Black’s Show Low Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Jimmie D Hastings (February 24, 1949 - August 8, 2013) Jimmie D. Hastings, 64, of Whiteriver, Arizona passed away on August 8, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on February 24, 1949 in Whiteriver, AZ. Jimmie attended East Fork Mission School and graduated from Alchesay High School in 1968. He attended college in Denver, Colorado and Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Arizona. Jimmie returned to the reservation where he was employed as a Survey Technician with BIA Roads Division from December 1972 until his retirement in June 2007. Jimmie had different hobbies and accomplished a lot in his life. His all-time favorite thing was being a cowboy and participating in the sport of Rodeo. He participated in the timed events as well as rough stock events and he is well known throughout Indian Country. He will always be an “All Around Cowboy”. Jimmie was born on White Mountain Apache reservation and lived there all his life. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will never be forgotten. Jimmie was preceded in death by; Father – Cain Hastings, Mother – Blossom Hastings, Sister – Karen Hastings and his Daughter – Naomi Hastings. He is survived by; Wife – Carolene Hastings,4 Children – Raymond Baha, Jayson, Tashena and Albert Hastings 3 Step-Children – Isaiah& Michael Clawson and Hector Delgado, 10 Grandchildren, Sisters- Althea Glashay, Millie Riley, Bernie Hastings and Abby Yazzie, Brothers – Leon Hastings, Eddie Hastings, Danny Hastings and Marty Hastings, many Nephews, Nieces, cousins and God Children. A two night wake will be held beginning Thursday August 15, 2013 at 10 AM at the family residence at 4202 Hastings St. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 1 PM at the Whiteriver Lutheran Church and Interment will be immediately following at the Canyon Day Cemetery Family Plot.
