The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, August 17, 2013 Doretta Marie (Kues) Johannessen, 92, of Holyoke, Colo., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, in Holyoke. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling, Colo., with funeral services following at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Fleming Cemetery. Doretta was born on June 11, 1921, in Fleming, Colo., to Karl and Wilhelmina Kues. She graduated from Fleming High School. She married Warner Suhr Johannessen on Aug. 10, 1946. They were married for 63 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Phoenix Camera Club and the Danish Club. She enjoyed and collected antique barbed wire. She is survived by brothers Harold Kues of Fleming and Herbert Kues of Del City, Okla.; and sisters Doris Bowker of Julesburg and Lavern Lovestedt of Kingman, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband Warner; parents Karl and Wilhelmina; sisters Gladys Hedges, Clara Bauer, Arlene Kues, Roma Kues and Gloria Pimple; and brother Donald Kues.
