Schartzer, Marvel age 90, of Phoenix Arizona peacefully passed away on July 30, 2013.
Marvel, a native Arizonan, was born in Globe, Arizona on January 7, 1923 to Franklin and Cora Birtcher.
Marvel graduated from Globe High School and went on to college obtaining an Education Degree. She was a long time employee of Deer Valley School District where she taught third grade at Village Meadows Elementary School. Marvel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in several callings, but her favorite was singing in the church choir.
Her husband Vern, brothers Franklin and Harold preceded her in death.
Marvel is survived by her sister, Virginia Wade, niece Kristi Bushnell (Robert), nephew Craig Birtcher, stepson Roger Schartzer, stepdaughters Beverly Bettision and Dawn Thornton, and many extended family members.
Services will be held August 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
