Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 Jane Johnson Eck, age 60, was born April 18, 1953, and taken to our Lord on Aug. 17, 2013. An Arizona native, she was brought into the world at Phoenix St. Joe’s Hospital. She graduated from Westwood High School and attended Arizona State University. Her strong faith in God led to a lifetime of commitment to others and the community where she lived. Jane managed the largest senior center in Arizona, the Red Mountain Multi-Generational Center, before moving to Globe, where she was the director of the Globe Active Adult Center. She was so very proud of the difference she could make in people’s lives every day. The role of the Center has expanded, as did her beloved Meals on Wheels campaign. She absolutely loved this community. It was her home. Robert W. Eck was a lucky man and on June 4, 1994, he married Jane at Holy Trinity. They both had a passion for the outdoors, which eventually led to moving from the Valley to the wonderful town of Globe. Holy Angels Church quickly became her spiritual home, and she dearly loved the church and the beauty and balance it brought to her life. A great mother to all who would stay still, the best sister a sibling could ever have and a loving daughter to her mother. Jane has left us for a better place and our hearts are heavy with loss. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth B. Johnson. Jane is survived by her husband, Robert W. Eck, and his parents, Robert and Regina Eck; her daughter and husband, Julee and Ben Recker; son and wife, Dylan and Kelly Eck; her son, Ryan Eck; son and wife, Chris and Kym Childers; her mother, Ann A. Webb; siblings, Morgan and Mary Johnson, Janice and BR Moore, and Denver and Billy Jo Johnson; eight grandchildren; and so many precious friends. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Jane J. Eck Memorial Fund — Account #313375590 at Great Western Bank. The family will be applying funds to the Meals on Wheels Program of Globe, Ariz. Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at Holy Angels Church, Globe, Ariz. A reception will follow services at Holy Angels Parish Hall in Globe.
