KLAFTER, Jerome (Jerry)


Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on August 22, 2013 - Jerome "Jerry" Klafter passed quietly in his sleep in his home that he shared with his wife of 39 years, Shirley. Jerry was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised in the Bronx, then moved to California. He was a licensed painting contractor until he moved to Kingman in 1989. He retired from Cotter and Company. Jerry leaves behind his wife, Shirley; brother, Randy (Sharon) Klafter; daughters, Gina (Don) Kraper, Toni Alese and Donna (Bill) Sandusky; his son, Anthony (Carolyn) Klafter; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jerry was a member of the Mohave Prospectors Association. He loved prospecting for gold and fishing, and spent untold hours working in his garage. In the past he had been a good golfer and bowler. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, followed by food and refreshments at Elks Lodge, 900 Gates Ave. Please join us in saying goodbye to Jerry. He will be loved always and greatly missed.
