Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Anita Canty (January 27, 1914 - August 17, 2013) Anita Canty, 99, of Parks, Arizona, departed from this life Saturday, August 17, 2013, at her home. She was born on January 27, 1914, in Quartzite, Arizona. On October 9, 1933 she married Zell Canty and they were together for 55 years. For several years, Anita lived all over Arizona and New Mexico as she and Zell moved following the road jobs he worked on. They lived off and on in Kingman, Arizona, from 1937 until 1945 when they moved to Parks, Arizona, where they resided for the rest of their lives. Over the years, she has been known for several things including: her cakes, her vegetable garden, handing out regular size candy bars at Halloween, Christmas lights on her house, black smoke coming out of her chimney, and her lamp in the window. She is preceded in death by her parents, 11 siblings, her husband, Zell, and her son, Leroy. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Mickey), Georgia, and Diana. In addition she has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held on Monday, August 26, 2013 in Williams, Arizona.
