RETHMAN, Rosemary (Rhody) Agnes

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, August 24, 2013 Rosemary "Rhody" Agnes McCrone Rethman, 85, of Prescott, Ariz., died peacefully following a short illness on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. May she find eternal peace in the hands of the Lord. Rhody was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 21, 1927, to Irish immigrants Michael James McCrone and Mary Smyth McCrone. She had seven siblings, Virginia, Rita, Mae, Terese, John, Joseph and Francis. Rhody met Air Force fighter and test-pilot Vincent Carl Rethman of Seneca, Kan., at the Lewis (now Glenn) Flight Research Center in Cleveland. Wed in May 1949, Rosemary and Vincent raised three sons, Dr. Michael Rethman (61) of Honolulu, Dr. Kevin Rethman (59) of Prescott, and Dr. John Rethman (56) of Warrenton, Va. With Vincent, Rhody resided in Guam, Washington D.C., Fairborn, Ohio, Wiesbaden, Germany, St. Louis, Mo., Westlake, Ohio, Key Biscayne, Fla., Venice, Fla., and Prescott. She is survived by her husband; sons; three sisters, Rita, Mae and Terese; two daughters-in-law, Gilia Iafolla Rethman and Susan Huber Rethman; six grandchildren, Nicole Rethman Arambula, Brian, Michael, Carleigh, Madison and Matthew Rethman; and two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Elise Arambula; and dozens of nieces, nephews and their children. A Catholic memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Alta Vista, 916 Canterbury Lane, Prescott. A service will also be at Arlington National Cemetery, in Virginia in early 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation in her name. Information provided by survivors.
