Thilman “Tim” Marvin Fronning, 72, of Fergus Falls, Minn., died July 29, 2013 at his home at the Mill Street Residence.
He was born Sept. 23, 1940, in Fergus Falls, Minn., the son of Palmer and Mabel (Holte) Fronning. He was baptized and confirmed at Aastad Lutheran Church.
Tim grew up in rural Fergus Falls, attending school at District #64, and then the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris, graduating in 1958. After graduation, he moved to Santa Anna, Calif. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves.
On July 2, 1961, he married Marilyn Wentler at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. The couple resided in California, where Tim was employed by L & M Uniform Co. He retired in 2004 after 41 years with the company. Following retirement, they moved to Lake Havasu City, and in May of 2013, they moved to the Mill Street Residence in Fergus Falls.
He was a member of the Elks while residing in California and Arizona.
Tim enjoyed bowling, boating, water skiing, fishing, traveling, camping, and spending time in the great outdoors.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Kevin; brothers, Maynard and Orris (Vi) Fronning; his father and mother-in-law, Harry and Georgia Wentler; and a brother-in-law, Jim (Jolene) Wentler.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Fronning, of Fergus Falls; four sisters; two brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; and Marilyn’s special cousin, Gwen (Tom) Steinbach, of Lake Havasu City.
A memorial service took place in Fergus Falls Aug. 2.
An inurnment service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Columbarium in Lake Havasu City.
