Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, August 28, 2013 - Adella “Della” Virginia Dunkak, 82, of Lake Havasu City passed away Aug. 16, 2013. She was born March 31, 1931, in Livingston, Calif., to Henry and Virginia Atkins, one of seven children: Florence, Margaret, Grace, Tommy, Ruby and Janet. Della moved to Ohio where she lived with her first husband for many years. After his death, she moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., to be with her sister and family. This is where she met Duane Dunkak. They soon were married and would have celebrated 37 years this September. During her marriage to Duane, they enjoyed 17 years of motor homing through many states and also motorcycling together. She loved to ride with her “DD” and their little get-aways to Prescott. She loved people, her dog Shawn, painting roses, baking tasty German chocolate cake and watching basketball. Her parents, first husband and five siblings preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Duane Dunkak, of Lake Havasu City; three stepchildren; sister, Janet Krebbs, of Oakhurst, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her. Services were in Turlock, Calif., Aug. 23.
