Donald "Donnie" Bittman was born March 7, 1929, and went to be with the Lord on Aug. 24, 2013. He was the son of Walter and Thelma Bittman and brother to Peggy, all deceased.
Don is survived by his loving wife Norma; four children and their spouses, sons Steve (Carol) Bittman and Stan Bittman and daughters Sandee (Chuck) Smith and Sharon (Jim) McMahon.
Also eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Don was a longstanding member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3600, as well as a member of Moose Lodge 319. He was friend to many, particularly Bill Burke and Bob Evans, who were especially supportive during his long illness.
He was the oldest active member of local pool leagues, and was a passionate lifelong fan of his alma mater football team, the Oklahoma University Sooners. He was a member of the Greater Arizona Country and Western Swing Music Association. He loved camping, Western movies and country music, especially for dancing with his wife.
Don had a great sense of humor and liked to tease those he loved. He will be missed by all who knew him during his long life.
There will be a memorial service from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 7, 2013, at the Eagles Lodge, 218 Cortez St., Prescott.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Eagles Lodge or a charity of you choice.
Final arrangements were made by Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel, Prescott Valley.
