GRAHAM, Daniel John (Dan)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, August 31, 2013 Daniel John Graham began his new journey on Aug. 27, 2013, at the age of 70. Dan was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Daniel Lawrence Graham and Hazel Elizabeth Burr on Feb. 16, 1943. He grew up in Wichita, Kan., with his sister Judy and brothers Rob and Jim. He attended Kapaun High School and Wichita State University and graduated with an art degree and was part of the ROTC program. He and Shari (Meek) married on Feb. 5, 1966, and, together, they took off for a world adventure with the Air Force that same year. Another great journey they shared was parenthood, and they enjoyed raising their three children, Scott Michael, Kurt Daniel and Kristin Michelle. Dan's time in the Air Force allowed them to experience living in many different places, including Germany. Dan's military service brought them to Phoenix in 1977, and Dan and Shari happily escaped from Phoenix and moved to Prescott in 1995. A fabulous stage of life began when Dan and Shari became Papa and Gramma to Zachary, Brady and Berlin. Being Papa for these three little people allowed Dan's silly and affectionate sides to blossom. Dan retired from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2009. He and Shari loved being outdoors, enjoying their plants, traveling to places with beaches and forests, visiting their children, and drinking coffee and eating dessert. Dan and Shari genuinely enjoyed spending time together. The sudden loss of Dan is extremely difficult for his family and we will miss him so very much. Any donations can be made to the Dan Graham Memorial Fund and will go to support a local charity. Funeral services were entrusted to Wakelin Family Funeral Homes.
