WRIGHT, Larry Allen


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, August 30, 2013 Larry Allen Wright died Aug. 27, 2013, at home in Prescott, Ariz. Larry was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Prescott at the old Mercy Hospital. After graduating from Prescott High School in 1945, he served two years in the U.S. Navy. He attended Phoenix College and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, where he met his wife, Priscilla "Percy" Price. They were married in 1951. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Larry accepted a job with Arizona Public Service, where he worked for 35 years. After retirement, Larry and Percy returned to Prescott. Larry volunteered for the Red Cross as a Reserve-a-Ride driver for 22 years, gave hundreds of hours for the Community Cupboard Food Banks and chaired the Adopt a Highway program at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where he also served as an usher and greeter. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Priscilla; sons David (Dedie) of Texas and Stuart (Erin) of Colorado; a daughter Susan Lee (Douglas) of Flagstaff; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister Shirley Springer of Mesa. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2000 Shepherd's Lane, Prescott. Memorial donations may be made to the Prescott Community Cupboard, 434 W.
