Walter L. Espitia, affectionately known as "Poyo," passed away surrounded by his loving family on Aug. 31, 2013. He was born, April 5, 1947, to Walter and Josie Espitia.
Walter (Poyo) is survived by his son, Levi Espitia; mother Josie Espitia; sisters Paula (Ralph) Vigueria and Felicia (William) Marquez; six nephews and one niece; numerous grand-nephews and -nieces, as well as uncles, aunts and cousins.
Walter (Poyo) was best known for his guitar-playing and beautiful voice. In our eyes and hearts, he was the "best" no one could compare. He loved taking pictures of nature; Sedona was one of his favorite places. He loved to hike and tell stories to his nephews. They all have vivid memories of their uncle. He had a gentle side for his mother and sisters and aunts.
Our hearts are crushed and he will be missed, until we see him again, we know our "Poyo" will be waiting for us.
We would like to thank Hospice Family Care for the kindness and compassion shown to our "Poyo" and family. They are "angels from heaven."
A funeral service for Walter will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott.
Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit www.hamptonfuneralhome.com to sign Walter's guestbook.
