Eugenio Alonso

Eugenio Alonso, 71, of Flagstaff, passed away September 4, 2013. He was born July 7, 1942 in Hontoria del Pinar, Spain.
Eugenio moved to the US when he was 18 years old. He came as a sheepherder to make a better life for himself. He enjoyed woodcutting, camping and being out in the woods. He was a good dancer.
Eugenio worked construction as a foreman in California and here in Northern Arizona, where he was a member of the Local 383 Labor Union.
Eugenio is survived by his wife, Olivia Jean Alonso; his daughters Mona (Louie) Sandoval, Sandra Perez, and Cathy Sunaripa; his sons George Alonso and Leonard Montoya; his grandchildren Olivia, Cynthia, Andrew, Daniel, Anthony, Alicia, and Deanndra, and by nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by His daughter Kathy, his sons Mark and Donald, and his brothers Victorano and Caseniro.
A visitation will take place Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 9:00 am followed by memorial mass at 10:00 am, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 224 S. Kendrick St., Flagstaff, Arizona.
