BARR, Dale W.

The Arizona Republic September 1, 2013 Barr, Dale W, 92, of Chandler, AZ., passed away on August 28, 2013. Born to Clarence and Anna Barr on April 7, 1921 at home in Low Manor, Iowa. After marring Lois M Sierk, they farmed at Low Manor, Iowa until retiring and then moved to Dewitt, Iowa. Eleven years ago they moved to Sun Lakes, AZ. to be closer to their daughter and family. Almost five years ago, they moved to the Village of Ocotillo in Chandler which became a new and wonderful life of "family and friends". Dale and Lois had the best care and friendship there was possible. Dale's favorite pasttime was playing The Power Ball Lottery and having the "girls" at the living room table check the numbers for him. That was one of the best things he told his daughter Barb, "Don't forget to get my ticket!" Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lois. Survivors are his daughter Barbara Smith of Sun Lakes, AZ.; grandson, Andy Kent (Michelle) of Avondale, AZ. and great-granddaughters, Brittany, Bridgette, Brenna and Brooke. A private family service was held Saturday, August 31 and a reception and coffee will be held at the Village of Ocotillo in the near future in his honor. The family wishes any memorials to go to Hospice of the Valley -, Lund Family Home, 1982 E. Woodside Court, Gilbert, AZ. 85297 as the care he recieved there the last three days of his life were exceptional, Arrangements under the direction of Valley of the Sun Mortuary.
