Lloyd O.Fox passed away Wednesday August 28th, 2013, at the age of 88,
Lloyd was born May 1, 1925, in eastern Kansas, but grew up in eastern
Colorado.
Upon graduation from high school , he volunteered for active service in the Army Air Force serving in WWII as an aerial navigator and
later was recalled to service during the Korean Conflict. He completed 50 missions in a B-26 Intruder attack bomber in Korea and was awarded several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross with a Second Oak-leaf Cluster.
Lloyd attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. After graduation he moved to Denver, Co.and began his 41 year career with Sharples Oil Corp., working as comptroller and later as Secretary Treasurer.
He and his wife of 65 years, Ruth, retired to Arizona in 1990. Lloyd loved music and all the electronic gadgets that improved the sound.
He enjoyed flying his Cessna 172 and had a great time with his Arizona
friends eating breakfast ans playing golf. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, John and LaVerne Fox, his sister Lois Ann Kelly, and grandson Brian Fox.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Fox, his son and daughter-in-law Larry Dean and Gloria Fox, grandson and wife Brandon and Jenifer Fox, great grandchildren Lauren and Ethan , brother-in-law Larry Kelly and will be missed and mourned by numerous friends and relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Pinnacle Presbyterian Church in the
Chapel, 2515 N. Pima Rd. on Sunday, September 1st, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be directed to Pinnacle Presbyterian Church or to Wounded Warrior Project.
