The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, AZ September 1, 2013 Stanley L Freedman died on, August 24, 2013, at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona. His 90th birthday was would have been on August 26th, 2013. The cause of death was cancer which he had successfully fought for decades. He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara (nee Lucking), six children Rita Levin (Arnold), Long Branch, N.J., Lynn Newman, Portland, OR., Michael (Elizabeth), Boulder, CO.O, Richard (Marcy), Marco island, FL., Jon (Pam), McLean, VA., Aand Jack (Elena), Colts Neck, N.J., twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Aaron Freedman, Boca Raton, FL. Stanley was a proud veteran of World War II, where he fought in Okinawa. After returning from the war, he finished his education at High Point College and Georgetown University, and and went on to become the president of four different divisions of Litton Industries, Inc., a multinational corporation headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA. Prior to that, he was the owner and operator of a jewelry store and gift sShop in Bound Brook, N.J. More recently, Stanley served in a series of academic and international management and marketing positions. He was Director of the Small Business Institute and founded the institute for Private Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. He also spent six years as Business Executive in Residence at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. He served a year in Warsaw, Poland on behalf of the US Department of State. He was also the Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California. There will be a private service for family at a later date.
