Dorothy Lee Hill Flack
April 14, 1923 - September 7, 2013
On Saturday morning, Sept. 7, 2013, Dorothy Lee Hill Flack passed away at home with her family around her after a long and courageous battle with congestive heart failure.
Mrs. Flack was born in Phoenix, Ariz., on April 14, 1923, and lived to be 90 years of age. She moved to Payson with her husband Dick in 1946 and owned and operated Flack Brothers Garage with Dick’s brother, Charlie.
In 1968, Dick and Dot moved to Yuma where they lived until 2001 when they moved back to Payson.
She was preceded in death by Dick, her husband of 60 years; her brothers, George and Grover Hill; and her sister, Clara Hawkins.
She is survived by her two girls, who have cared for her in her home for the past 11 years: Sharon (Tom) Denning and Linda Kay (Gerry) Ellis, both of Payson; her grandchildren Keith Larson and Tami (Royce) Kincanon of Payson, Brandi (Reyes) Sanchez of Winslow, and Ryan (DeAnna) Ellis of Ft. Benning, Ga.; three step-grandchildren, Robbie (Julie) Denning, Deann (Roger) Robinson and Elaine (Bill) Utz and great-grandchildren, Robert, KayLynn, Rebecca, Natoshia, Brittany; and stepgreats Justin, Kendra, Sarah, Amanda, Mary, Kirstie, Joshua, Krystopher and Tyler; as well as nieces and nephews.
She will be buried in Gisela along with the rest of the Flack family at a later date.
No services will be held at her request.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 511 S. Mud Springs Rd., Payson, AZ 85541.
The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to Hospice as an organization, but more importantly to the “angels” who came and cared for our dear Mother so lovingly for the past two years; in particular, Caroline, Judy, Ericka, Lois, Gina, Debbie and Martha.
A special thanks to Joey with Mountain Respiratory, who she eagerly awaited to deliver her oxygen every Friday.
