Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 Mary Frances Nowicki Kocka January 21, 1920 - September 2, 2013 Mary Frances Nowicki Kocka passed away on Sept. 2, 2013. She was born in Chicago, Ill. on Jan. 21, 1920. She moved to Phoenix, Ariz. in 1952 and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, served as a Girl Scout Leader, and worked at the Arizona State Compensation Fund. In 1978, she moved with her husband, Jim, to Strawberry, Ariz. There they were active members at St. Philip’s Parish in Payson, Ariz., the Payson Senior Center and were founding members of the Pine-Strawberry Senior Center. Mary also served many years as secretary for the Payson Seniors Bowling League. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane (Thomas) Jasin of Lancaster, Pa. and Christine (Walter) Weglarz of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Jill Orosz, Staci Jasin, Claire Weglarz, James Weglarz, Julie Weglarz, and Sara Jasin; and five great-grandchildren, Max, Isabella, Evelyn, Hailey and William. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 330 W. Coral Gables Dr., Phoenix, Ariz. 85023. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, Ariz.
