GREEN, Vila Eve (Vee)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 09/13/2013 Vila Eve Green was an active community leader in the White Mountains. She relocated to Pinetop from Casa Grande after her husband, Raymond, the love of her life for 61 years, died in 2007. Vee was a real estate agent for over 30 years in Casa Grande. Her sense of humor and wit were known far and wide and won her many close relationships. After moving to Pinetop, she immediately took to the Pinetop-Lakeside Police Department, volunteering to do the fingerprinting. She became very close to everyone there and looked forward to “teasing the cops” each week. They recognized how special she was and she loved them all. She also became the president of the Friends of the Library, fitting well with her love for the written word. She always had a book in her purse in case she had a spare minute. Vee was a member of the White Mountain Women’s Club, Queen Mother of the “Funsters” Red Hats in Casa Grande, as well as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and granddaughter Amanda Johnson. She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Joe Mavis of Pinetop; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond II and Joy Green of Dallas; and a grandson and his wife, Dustin Johnson and Shannon of Gilbert. She also leaves five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held to celebrate Vee’s life Sept. 19 at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, AZ 85248 (www.valleyofthesunfuneralhome.com).
