John Michael Cordaro, 58, was called home by the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. He was struck by a pickup truck while riding his motorcycle in Phoenix.
Mr. Cordaro was born in Albuquerque, N.M., but lived most of his adult life in Cheyenne, Wyo. and the Metro Phoenix area.
He was high school educated and became a self-taught master-of-all-trades, excelling primarily in welding and ironwork. He was also an excellent mechanic. While living in Cheyenne in the 1970s, he was employed by the city water department servicing wells. He also spent several years driving long haul 18-wheelers.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Cordaro; his father, John Louis Cordaro; his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Helen Cordaro; his maternal grandparents, Dick and Clara Bowman; two aunts, Pat White and Cleo Hevelone.
He is survived by his daughter, Destiny (Greg) Landry; son, Richard (Andrea) Cordaro; seven grandchildren; his mother, Lee Wilson; brothers, Dave, Daniel, Paul and Michael Cordaro; sisters, Peggy Rang and Susan Cordaro; 13 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Mr. Cordaro was a quiet man with a sweet, gentle spirit and a giving heart. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He was well loved and will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, Sept. 16, at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz., followed immediately by interment at Green Acres. Viewing will commence at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16.
An account has been established at Wells Fargo Bank to help defray the cost of final arrangements. The family requests memorial donations be sent to the John Michael Cordaro fund at Wells Fargo.
