SICKINGER, Michael (Mike)


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Sunday, September 15, 2013 Michael Sickinger, 73, passed away on September 3, 2013 after a short battle with illness. Mike was born on January 29, 1940 and spent his early years growing up in Rudolph, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1962 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and he passed his CPA examination shortly thereafter. In 1966, he moved his family to Flagstaff where he began his career as an accountant with Northern Arizona University. He remained with the university for 27 years before retiring in 1993 as the Assistant Comptroller. After that, he spent his time with some travel and enjoying his winters relaxing on the beach in San Carlos, Mexico. Mike also enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and spoiling his two dogs, Lucy and Andy. He is survived by his son, Paul Sickinger, grandson Daniel Sickinger, brother Leigh Sickinger, sisters Lynne Hintz and Claudia “Coco” Sickinger along with other family members who will miss him greatly. In lieu of services, the family suggests a donation be made to the Arizona Humane Society in Michael’s honor. Arrangements were handled by Lozano’s Flagstaff Mortuary.
