Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 Wanda Lee Hickman, 86, of Globe, Ariz., passed away on Sept. 11, 2013. She was born in Chinook, Kansas on Dec. 20, 1926 to Arthur and Addie Ferguson. She was their only child. When Wanda came to Globe, she was a substitute for both Globe and San Carlos School Districts. Wanda finished her Teaching Degree from ASU at the age of 55. Wanda then was employed at San Carlos School District until her retirement. Wanda is survived by five children, Scott Hickman of Santa Fe, N.M., Bob (Avie) Hickman of Globe, Tamara (Bob) Martin, of Copperas Cove, Texas, Patti (Mark) Casillas of Globe, and Mischelle Brant (Jeffreys) of Wittman, Ariz. Wanda has 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Addie Ferguson and her first-born son, Greg Hickman. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. On Saturday, Sept. 21 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Globe. The family was assisted by The Neptune Society. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Crossing Hospice or High Desert Humane Society.
