The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, September 18, 2013 Kevin Hopper It is with great shock and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Kevin E. Hopper of Rimbey, Alberta, Canada on Thursday, Sept. 5 at the age of 51 years. Kevin was born and raised in the Rimbey area and always possessed an immense love for adventure and the great outdoors. He was an avid and fearless horseman. There was no trail or horse that he couldn’t ride. Kevin was a good and loyal friend and neighbor and will be sadly missed by us all. He will forever be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his children Meghan (Ray) Speed of Red Deer, Alberta; Amanda Hopper of Bluffton, Alberta; Tyler Hopper, also of Bluffton; best friend and true love Tracey Seewald; and his treasured grandchildren Nieve, Ryley, Jordan and Maria Speed. He will also be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his parents, Dennis and Loraine Hopper of Rimbey and Wickenburg; brother Brett (Kathy) Maimann of Edmonton, Alberta; sisters Denise (Darren) May of Rimbey, Kim Purdy (Frank Wilson) of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, and Kathy (Jerry) Fortino of Lacombe, Alberta; mother of his children Gabe Hopper; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, other relatives; and a host of cherished friends. Kevin was predeceased by his sister Shelley Hopper in 1984; and his grandparents Charles and Ann Hopper; Earl and Jessie Johnson; and Louis and Myrtle Miller. A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Kevin’s Life was held at the Rimbey United Church in Rimbey on Thursday (Sept. 12), with the Rev. Deborah Laing officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium in Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Kevin’s memory may be made directly to the Agrim Centre, c/o Rimbey Agricultural Society, Box 1173, Rimbey, Alberta, Canada, T0C 2J0.
