Her father was an engineer in the mines in Jerome and her mother served as the Jerome Post Office interim post-mistress. She attended school in Jerome, graduating from Jerome High School in 1947.
Jigger lived many years in Southern California where she raised her family. She was a dedicated mother, often working two jobs to provide for her children. She earned a degree in recreational therapy at Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles, California.
She worked with people with disabilities at the Y.M.C.A., teaching them to swim. She worked for the Los Angeles Rec & Parks Department for many years, working the entire age spectrum from preschoolers to senior citizens. During her time there, she made many life-long friends & touched many lives. In the early 1980s, she returned to school, becoming a L.P.N. & worked at the Seventh-day Adventist Hospital in Glendale, California.
She eventually moved back to the Verde Valley in 1984 where she continued her hard-working ways, working at the Briar Patch. She taught jazzercise at the Ridge & swimming lessons to a multitude of local children, including three of her grandchildren. She later became a licensed massage therapist at Los Abrigados, as well as teaching water aerobics at Poco Diablo Resort & the Racquet Club.
She never stopped moving. In her free time, she was always busy with a creative project & her grandchildren were the recipients of many of these projects. She was an artist and craftsman. She created works of art in stained glass, pottery, leather, wall hangings, stepping stones, and so much more. Jigger was active in the Jerome monthly potlucks and the class reunions for many years.
