Death of Mrs. Buckham
Mrs. Jane Buckham, mother of Mrs. Addie Harris, and her grandmother of T. L. and Sam Harris, at the home of her daughter in this city yesterday afternoon at five o'clock, after an illness of only five days.
She was born in Kentucky, September 25, 1920, making her age almost 83 years. She was married to T. L. Buckham July 20, 1843, and together they settled in western Iowa, then on the extreme frontier where they resided together until 1876, when her husband died. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Harris.
She had been a faithful and devout member of the Christian church for nearly 60 years, and almost the last words were 'God's will be done; I am ready.' Mrs. Harris is now the last survivors of a family of nine.
The funeral will be held from the undertaking parlors of S. A. Logan tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, and friends of the family are invited to attend.
