Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 Wilma M. Madrid “Mickey”, 85, of Miami Ariz., was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Miami, Ariz. Growing up in Miami, her family worked at the mine. For fun as a child she used to catch and ride wild donkeys. A tomboy at heart, she preferred to wear boots and jeans. The street named Spadifore was named after her family. She loved dogs, showed horses and played semi-pro softball with our former governor Rose Mofford. A highly skilled bowler, she had an average bowling score of 232. She was also a Faithful Diamondbacks fan. Mickey is survived her two grandchildren, Steven Spadifore and Collette; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Syers; brother, Charlie Berup (a professional basketball player for Dupont)’ and sister, Maxine. Services were held Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at Miles Funeral Services 237 S. Sutherland St. Globe, AZ 85501, 928-425-5759. Visitation was at 10 a.m., with funeral services at 11 a.m. and interment immediately following at Pinal Cemetery on Main Street in Central Heights.
