MCGINNIS, Ollie Christine

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona April 2007 Ollie Christine McGinnis, 85, died April 3, 2007, in Flagstaff. Ollie was born in Chickasha, Okla., before moving to Plainview, Texas. At 15 years old she moved to Arizona, where she lived for 70 years. She met Elmer, the love of her life, in Glendale. They married and raised their family there. Ollie pursued a career in education and graduated from Grand Canyon College in Phoenix. She loved teaching third grade children and taught at Westwood Christian School and Verde Valley Christian School. Ollie is survived by her sister, Dene Parker; two sons, Skip and Eddie McGinnis; two daughters, Sissy Sellers and Candy Novakovich; 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held April 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 750 E. Mingus Ave, in Cottonwood, Ariz. Please send condolences to the family at www.flagstaffmortuary.com.
