WADE, Sara C

(Maiden Name: Brewer)

El Paso Times (El Paso TX) Thursday, February 7, 2013 A wonderful mother, grandmother and wife, Sara C Wade, 91, passed away on January 30, 2013. Mrs Wade was born in Oliver, Georgia on September 6, 1921 to Virgil P and Sara Marsh Brewer. She lived in Georgia until marrying James Donald Wade, Sr. an Air Force pilot. They spent 25 years traveling with the U.S. Air Force, and spent time in a number of different duty locations including Savannah, Georgia, St Louis, Missouri, Tonopah, Nevada, Aranjuez, Spain and Madison, Wisconsin. They retired in El Paso, Texas in 1966, and she has been a resident here since that time. While in El Paso she worked as a manager at Gilbert's Fashion Apparel, and also did some modeling for Gilbert's. She later worked at Fort Bliss Credit Union, before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel James Donald Wade, Sr., and is survived by her two children, James Donald Wade, Jr., (wife, Mary Kathryn Long) of Portland, Oregon, and Sara B Lockwood (husband Thomas Giereisch) of Wickenburg, Arizona, as well as her granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Lockwood of Austin, Texas. She was always an avid traveler and pet lover and was happiest when "on the road again" in her RV with her big dog, traveling to visit her many friends and her family, who all loved her and will deeply miss "The White Dove" as she was affectionately known to so many of us. She will be buried beside her husband at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 9:30am Friday, February 8, 2013. Donations to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
