WALLEN, Alvin Neal

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, September 29, 2013 Alvin Neal Wallen, born April 11, 1933, in La Plata, Mo., to Roy and Grace Wallen, passed from this world Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, to rejoin his wife, Dolores, who died July 10, 2012. Alvin served in the Air Force during the Korean War and afterward made a career in quality control at Rohr Aircraft in Riverside and Chula Vista, Calif. After retiring from Rohr, Alvin moved to Yarnell, Ariz., where he enjoyed vintage tractor restoration, antique collecting, and spending quality time with his family, especially time spent instilling a strong work ethic in the younger generation. A beloved father, Alvin is survived by his sons, David and Gary; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremiah, Katie, Jordon, Lee Anna, Gary Junior and Audrey; and his great-grandchildren, Alec, Cole, Avril, Cohen, Keegan, Faith and Jeremiah Junior. As many in the family were displaced by the Yarnell Hill fire, a reunion/memorial service is planned for later in the year in California. Alvin had a contagious smile and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Please visit www.heritagemortuary.com to sign Alvin's online guestbook. Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary. Information provided by survivors.
