CARROLL, Betty Joe

Miles Funeral Service, Globe, Arizona Betty Joe Carroll, age 84, of Globe, Arizona, passed away peacefully at her home on September 19, 2013. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia. On August 17, 1929, to Osie Rolland and Harless, she was their only child together. Betty and her husband (Elvie) and their four children came to Globe to visit her cousin (Jenkins), then headed to California, but liked Globe and decided to stay. Betty went straight to nursing school and her husband Elvie supported her dreams by working for Globe Public Schools as a bus driver/mechanic. She eventually finished school and received her R.N. and worked as a nurse for Gila General and then as the Director of Nursing for Heritage Health Care Center. Betty is survived by her daughter Karen Bowyer (Robert) of Globe, Misty Carroll (granddaughter/caregiver), Bryanna Taufa of Globe, Kim, Brad, Bubby Bowyer of Globe, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by the love of her life, Elvie A. Carroll, her oldest son Wayne Carroll, youngest son Brian Carroll, and her two brothers and parents. Betty will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her. Betty loved nursing and loved to help and take care of people. Love you, Grandma Betty always, and forever you will be in our hearts. Visitation was held Wednesday, September 25, 2013, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Bulman Miles Funeral Home, 237 S. Sutherland St., Globe, Arizona, 85501. Graveside followed at 1:00 PM at Globe Cemetery.
