Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Tuesday, October 01, 2013 Carlos Alvarez Jr., age 72 of Cutter, Ariz. passed away on Sept. 24, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Globe, Ariz. on Nov. 9, 1940, the son of Carlos and Dolores Alvarez Sr. He worked as an underground miner for BHP Copper Company. Carlos enjoyed gardening, the Chicago Cubs, telling stories and socializing with his friends and family. Carlos served his country proudly in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolores McNally and Carlos Alvarez Sr.; and his sister, Jenny Patterson. Carlos is survived by his wife, Lorraine Elgo Alvarez; daughter, Jennifer Murphy (Mike); son, Johnny J. Alvarez; and sisters, Nellie Rivera (Robert) and Annie Jones (Garry) Rosary will be at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Miami, Ariz. on Oct. 5, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
